Gaming: Slender Man

I was warned once, not to buy games because it's virtual, not a physical thing but I tend to be rebellious sometimes.

Thanks to the recent steam summer sale, I've spent a lot of money and no, I do not regret buying the games that I bought.

Two of the games I bought (and finished) are Slender: The Arrival and Fran Bow. I still have a few (a lot actually but let me feel good please) games which I abandoned because it's too hard or too tense. For example, I bought dead space a year ago and finished playing the first chapter but I gave up. So, I, Taheera has brought disgrace to the humankind as I abandoned Dead Space in shame (will try to continue when I have the strength to go through it).

Anyways, let's talk about Slender: The Arrival.

In the stage selection, you will have to unlock nine stages/ chapters: Prologue, The Eight Pages, Into the Abyss, Flashback, Memories, Escape, Homestead, The Arrival, and Genesis. Oh, hold on, there's a secret chapter as well. So, ten? When I started playing, my guide was mostly Markiplier but some chapters were not in Markiplier's game play and I think it is because he was playing the old version (Even the video was uploaded years ago). I am playing (according to this one website) 2.0 version of it. Oh, and I was playing easy mode. (don't judge me)

Prologue, I didn't know who I was or maybe I didn't pay too much attention to it. Apparently, I was Lauren. I'm searching for Kate who was missing. When I started playing, I was supposed to explore and find Kate's house but it took me really long to search for the house (more than 10 minutes). Probably because I was clueless. When I finally found the house, I explored it (duh). Bear in mind, I am very new to these kind of game. Hence why I failed at playing dead space. I had watched a lot of game play for Slender man which was why I had such high expectation when I played it and because the game plays I watched showed so much fear in it, I thought it was really scary. Anyways, nothing much on the first chapter except I played the slides in the backyard and got an achievement for that (wohoo). Somewhere while I was exploring the house, I found a key to a room which was locked and heard screaming after that. Another mission, which was to investigate the scream. I went out from the backyard picking up pieces of clues (and literally abandoned some). Along the way, I had to start up generators and it led me to a missing child report-ish paper. It was Charlie, the missing child and boy, I hated Charlie with all my heart. The three generators did led me to a burnt house where there was a crying lady which I approached and after getting attacked, she was gone.

The Eight Pages, oh yes, the famous Eight Pages. I am proud to say that I managed to succeed within my second try. There weren't much story in this chapter, just the eight pages of clues left by Kate scattered in a sort-of forest. The challenge was more to avoiding Slender and it wasn't scary, honestly. It was more of nerve-wrecking because of how far you've collected the pages, it was like I was so close to getting the eighth page and Slender Man just had to harass me.

Into The Abyss, I have to admit. This was one of the hardest chapter in this game. This chapter is almost similar to The Eight Pages but harder. Not only I had to avoid Slender Man, but I also had to avoid bumping into the CHASER.

This JERK! As you can tell, I am very much angry towards this insolent monster. You might not think it is a big deal but wait till I finish this whole thing then, you will know how much I despise this kid. Oh, plot twist (or not), chaser is Charlie, I think but again, according to the website that I am reading, Chaser is a proxy of Kate (I am so confused right now)

Back to this chapter, luck was on my side, I succeeded in my first attempt! The mission was for me to activate six generators in some factory or mining place. The six generators will activate the lift for me to leave and save myself. The mining facility had a lot of rooms or dividers which made it harder to search for generators and mid-way chaser will start chasing and boy, that monster is possessed by a demon cheetah. Aren't ghosts supposed to be slow? As usual, you can't leave the main character, Slender Man was also there to harass. So, yeah. This chapter didn't add much progress to the story line but I did explore the whole place, getting more clues before entering the mining facility.

Flashback, this chapter branched out to another two chapters: Homestead and Escape. In Flashback, I (or Lauren) found a place which had television and tapes, two tapes to be exact which will lead me to the two chapters.

The first tape I ventured in got me to Homestead and this was the hardest chapter for me. In this chapter I was Carl Ross and I was investigating on Charlie's missing case. I got out from the car, directly in front of a house. I got one clue from the house and there was a barn, something like a barn next to it and more buildings behind the barn. I got stuck finding the way out of the barn and the house area, I didn't realized there was a lever close to the ceiling. Once I had an opening, I went through the barn to another building-ish and this time it was a huge building like a factory with barrels but it was dark in there that I needed to find gas for the generator. I went to explore, searching for gas and got into a basement. In the basement, there was a lady crying, hanging in between the narrow walls which I didn't approach. In the process of searching for the gas, Charlie (and yes, it is confirmed that chaser is Charlie) passed by me.

After finding the gas from the basement, I explored a little bit and found a key! I went back to activate the generator, and found one clue (so much effort for one clue). The key I found was for the church. As I entered the church, the door closed behind me revealing Slender man. There were more clues in the church with pictures. I didn't know what was I supposed to do because both doors were locked. On the floor, there were parts of dolls, hands, arms, body and head. I picked it up and the door directly in front of me burst opened by Charlie.

This is where "I knew you were trouble when you walked in" is relatable. I stood there, after messing with his toys, I assumed, frozen. He was crazy, going towards me and game over. I tried again, thinking of strategy to not die in the hands of Charlie. The second time, I actually got it, I was free from that cockroach but I saved the game from being mentally exhausted.  On the next day, when I continued playing, I was back as Carl Ross coming out from his car recording his investigation of Charlie's disappearance or in other words, I had to start all over, from the beginning of Homestead and this time I was out of luck.

I played approximately seven times, trying to run and save myself from Charlie. Anyways, my strategy was after I have collected the toys, I will run to my left, to go on the podium and that was when Charlie barged in and yanked the door opened. Once he started running, searching for me, I will dashed towards the open door and close it before the could catch me (and he's really fast). From there, I will run straight, back towards the house, to the attic, finding more clues. Thankfully, I was able to start from here whenever I got 'game over'. Then, I will jump from the attic to the first floor and Charlie will make another dramatic appearance, smashing 'wood nailed to a door" opened even though he looked like he couldn't even lift a chair. I had to run again, away from charlie back out from the house and hide under a tree because apparently, Charlie can't see me even when I am an adult under a small tree. He will run past me (finally) and that is the end of homestead chapter.

Escape, I'm still quite unsure of the whole plot but in this chapter, I was Kate, who seemed to be losing her mind. I was back in the house from Prologue and it was seen that Kate (or me, hehe) was scribbling madly on papers. The mission of this chapter was to close all the windows and doors. I forgot the number of doors and windows I was supposed to shut. Anyways, Kate was hiding from Slender man. After shutting all openings, I had to go back to my room (which was the locked room in Prologue) and was instructed to hide and obviously failed (and moved to the next stage). I think this chapter explains the story behind the screaming Lauren was supposed to investigate. After being confronted by Slender man because he found Kate whether she hides or not, I was back to flashback.

The Arrival, this is where the arrival of confusion will arrive. After coming back to flashback, from flashbacks of different characters, I (back as Lauren) went around exploring, went through a cave and everything was on fire. I was running, trying to escape the fire and the control was hard because I was supposed to be in haze. Everything was blurry until I managed to get into another building, the radio tower. I was once again, locked by slender man as soon as I entered the radio tower. Then, I had to find a key to the locked room. It turns out that Kate (my friend) and Carl Ross were insane, driven by Slender Man and Lauren had to end it.

I got into the locked room and they were writings on the wall, from Kate and it seemed that she will be the one killing Lauren. At the end of the room, there was a corpse, and it was Carl Ross since beside him was a camera. I played the recording. In the recording, Carl Ross was trying to make Kate kill herself together with him to end this whole thing but dang it, Kate! You just have to drag me into this. Anyways, I woke up (somehow not dead yet after the explosion in the locked room) in another place, a basement.

Charlie just had to reappear and he was at the end of the stairs, guarding it. Obviously, I had to go up the stairs. I explored the basements, finding more clues and a book. Poof, Charlie was gone (YAZ). I went up and I was at the burnt house in the prologue, where the crying lady was. The crying lady whom I believe is Kate. I tried to approach her and she changed to Charlie.

After that, I was seen being dragged (sort of) and the end.

Then, I checked my chapter selection and apparently, I have not played another chapter, which is
Memories, in this chapter. I wasn't Lauren anymore. I was Charlie, the boy who I thought was Chaser but I am not sure anymore. In Memories, I (Charlie) was playing at the beach and was following trails of sparkly keys or something I don't remember. Eventually, it led me away from my parents who were calling me back. When I was too far to go back, I was taken by Slender man. Hence, why I was reported missing. It is my own fault tho. Oh, in this chapter, which was actually the last chapter I played because I missed out the camouflaged teddy bear in the middle of the wood. So, I sort of skipped this one hehe.

I do not recall playing the chapter Genesis but according to the reference, it explained more aboit Kate and how it started for her, the whole thing but I really don't remember playing this chapter. Did I leave this chapter out?

So, I guess this is it. There's a secret level which I have not played (I've uninstalled the game already). Maybe, I'll give it another shot. When my hatred towards Charlie is not rising above my head. Overall, I do love this game but I would want more of explanation of the characters, more backstory. A lot of things were left hanging and I had to google for the plot, still very confused tho.

Anyways, this is the website I kept on quoting. I read this for more closure and it cleared up many of my confusions.

Thanks for reading. I hope you like my second attempt of writing this!

I made a book!

I have been spending a lot of times watching YouTube videos lately and one of the videos that I watched was how to make a notebook.

As a notebook fan and a collector of notebook, obviously I want to make one, one that is perfect for me or represents me.
So, I spent one whole day watching videos of how to make my own notebook or sketch book.  Also, I've been dying to start my 2017 journal (yes, it's already august and I'm just now starting it). I also have been a fan of journals and journaling but obviously too lazy to be consistent. Last year, I only managed to write up till September which is honestly, not bad, isn't it?

Anyways, I watched this one specific video that got me really interested and I decided to make it myself!

Click here to watch the video.

Ta-daa!

So, what caught my interest was the coptic stitching method. I like that in the video, the sketchbook is so simple (almost naked) but the colour of my board is too pale which makes my book looks cheap and ugh, I hate it. I can't make the stitch as beautiful as how it is supposed to look but hey, it's my first time and my thumb hurts from pulling out strings (also I used the wrong string)

Aren't you annoyed seeing how uneven my pages/ signatures are? Cause I am really annoyed at how my pages didn't turn out well.

Honestly, the hardest part for me was when I had to make holes on the pages and board, I didn't have an awl, I used needle instead and it wasn't easy since because somehow,  I get the measurements wrong.

I did have a hard time stitching the book up as well but it wasn't as annoying as poking holes into each signatures. My problem were, as mentioned earlier, one, I got the wrong thread or string. I didn't know what thread I was supposed to buy and I didn't have wax to wax the thread (hehe) so it slows down a lot of process. Second, the holes that I created aren't cooperating with me (although actually it's my fault) and because the thread were pretty rough, it ruined the holes of the paper.

So, that is my experience of making a book. I would say it is actually a very calming session and it required a lot of patience. Oh, and obviously consistency ( poking holes for every signature). The end result of this whole thing is very satisfying, I am still feeling satisfied even though it wasn't pretty but like I said, it my first try! This will not be the last try to make the perfect journal. I need to achieve beautiful knots at the side of my books.

That is all for me.

2017 Adventure : Doodles

I have not been doodling tho. I am very lazy but since I made a promise to myself to try new things and be productive, I tried new doodling ways, or style? I mean, ever since I started doodling, I kept on repeating the same pattern and it gets boring hence, why I stopped for quite a long time apart of being frustrated and bitter. Anyways, here are some that I tried this year.

Can you see snow down there? Anyways, this is me trying to combine both brush lettering and a bit of doodle. It's not that nice but it's something new and I wish to practice more, soon (when I have time, when I am not lazy)

This is me trying out floral ish design.

This is me trying out different kinds of doodle, The thing about my doodle is that I never plan it, as in, I add according to what I think is going to be nice but this time I was being more constructive in my doodling. I am not sure how nice it is to you but I think it is not that ugly.

here's me scribbling the ideas

I hope is not that bad tho.

Calligraphy // Brush lettering

HI!

I have always been a fan of pretty stuff (or art). When I was little,
my mum had this book about calligraphy technique. So,
whenever I visited the stationery store, I would always try out
the calligraphy pens.

When I was 16, my mum and I joined calligraphy classes, to
be more specific, Arabic calligraphy. These are my evidence.
I'm not exactly proud of showing this but whatever.

Eventually, I stopped after entering the second level of this class.
I'm not kidding but this was really hard for me. The second level
was when I was 17 and I have SPM. Although doing this calligraphy
calmed me but it was just too difficult.

You have to breathe properly whenever you write, and I wasn't using pen
to write it down. I used bamboo, dipping it with ink. I was really
difficult. The class had exams which made it not enjoyable.
I stopped halfway.

After PLKN, I adopted the habit of writing journal once again.
I have always loved writing diary or journal but I am not
consistent. I get bored easily.

Like I said earlier, I love pretty stuff and my journal was
too plain. I needed more colours and art in it but I didn't know
what to add. Once I entered foundation, I have a friend who
does brush lettering and it was so beautiful.

These are her works.

You can see more of her brush lettering art here - @artmalia

FREAKING BEAUTIFUL!

Anyways, she gave me an hour of tutoring session when I was
in my short semester but as expected, mine is so ugly.

Also, I have another friend who does all this as well. He snapchatted
a lot of his work and the process of brush lettering which made
me more interested in brush lettering.

I whatsapped him one day, asking him to make some brush lettering
art for me.

You can see more of his work here!

So, after seeing my friends doing all these, I started as well but
I am still a beginner and, trying to be good at it as well.

Anyways, here are some pictures of my journal

I usually write in detail form first in my planner, then I will elaborate
everything in my journal. Usually, I include receipt/ tickets as well in my
journal!

This is me practicing my brush lettering. I still have a lot to improve.

So yeah, that's it for my brush lettering journey.

What do you think?

Bye!

Doodles

Hello, if you are interested in knowing my drawing/doodling journey, you
can continue reading. If only if, really. It is up to you but this post has lots
of pictures, if you do not mind that. It is not that interesting but thank you
for stopping by my blog! heehehehe I, now will start. (okay, weird? hmm)

Around two years ago, I stopped drawing. Drawing anime to be specific.
When I was small and foolish, I wanted to become a manga artist but as
you have guessed, it did not happen, not even close! Ever since I was small,
our family's main activity (as in my cousins, brothers) was to draw apart from
playing games and stuff. I remembered how my cousins will open up a drawer
filled with papers for us to draw. It was really nice but I wasn't really the one
who can stand drawing for hours and hours. My drawing weren't on par with
them. I literally draw one eye and let the hair cover the other eye. It was just
UGLY. VERY! I got frustrated but I still draw when I am bored, up till today.

Literally me.

And another one

Around two years ago, I only stopped drawing anime after I found
out this thing called zentangle. I call it doodling but apparently there's
another name for it. Yup, Zentangle. You can google it up if you want
but that's a lot of effort. I was in ICT class, really bored and somehow
my teacher (I was in Form 6) was telling us about some inspirational
stuff which I didn't want to listen initially. He was showing us some
accumulation of drawing or designs which were really beautiful. He
said he did it to feel calm and you know, some typical art reason; to
express feelings and whatnot.

So I thought his work were really beautiful and detailed, eventually I tried it.

I did this literally after I got back from school, after his 'inspirational talk'

Then I continued doing more and more

as you can see, I started off with really small. It was really
hard for me to expand it cause I was afraid it would be ugly

Just black ink can get really boring, so I started trying out with
colours.

That's me doodling for new design but everything was so ugly (ugh)

I doodled every free time I had but eventually I got bored of the same design.
I felt like I wasn't creative enough and got a bit frustrated.
But one day, I was starting to have problem sleeping. I mean it has
been going on for weeks, I was really restless so I decided to do
something (doodling, duh). Turns out it is always when I don't care,
that I get quite acceptable doodles. what I meant to say is every
time I try so hard to make my doodle nice, it will turn out like this.
(The one below)

I am really not being humble but the picture above, my doodle is
hideous. That happens a lot when I try so hard to be perfect but the
pictures below are the ones I did to feel calm or to express myself.
Basically, the art-ish reason is sort of true in some ways (haha)

It is not beautiful but it is okay, I guess.

This one was the one I did when I can't sleep

These the ones I doodled cause I was bored, tensed and stressed out

The ballerina-ish doodle was when I stopped doodling for a long time.
That semester was so hectic that I did not have time to do anything and
after the semester ended, I got rejected from Architecture once again so
I was in the phase of hating every doodle that I did and everything that
had to do with architecture or art. I was left bitter for a long time.

But as you can see, I started doing it again around late October, last
month. Plus, I am still, very bored of the same kind of doodle.

Honestly, I copied a lot of designs online for inspiration.

What do you think of my doodle?

Do you any advice for me in doodling?

If you are interested to see more, you might be able to see them on my

Bye :)

(I don't know why I am writing as if people are reading my blog but okay, whatever)

Fan Fiction

I have been writing a lot thanks to my course. I can't help feeling bitter
about it. I mean all my assignments include 2000 words report, research
work and analysis. ALL 2000 words. Sure, it doesn't seem much but when
you have nothing to write, 2000 is a big number. I mentioned somewhere
that I started to like reading after the age of 17. Maybe, later than 17 but
I have never despise writing. It is something I looked forward to every
single time in English class and sometimes in Malay class, surprisingly
but thanks to this awful semester,

I've grown to hate writing and reading. Being a fool,I didn't investigate
what was my course all about. I knew the surface but not the details.  I have
chosen a course that is a research based kind of course. Basically,my everyday
life is filled with writing research paper, hunting for free journal articles to cite
or refer to (duhh) and reading millions of articles.

Anyways,
during foundation, I wrote a fan fiction. It took me more than a
year to complete it.From October 2014 until March 2016. I tried to
update every week thinking I do not want to be evil to my readers
(if I had any). I mean, I know the feeling when writers decided to just
abandon their half written book or update once a month, sometimes
longer than that. It tortured my soul. I felt restless not knowing what
was going to happen. Some of  would end the chapter with brilliant
cliffhanger, and with that, I'll kiss my sleep away cause the curiosity
kept me up.

Because I wanted to upload it on Asian Fan Fiction, I had to include
lots of Korean element in it which is not so suitable with my story
setting, honestly. My story had the setting of a western lifestyle,
don't know why. Anyways, I almost deleted this story due to the
thought of it being very boring and cliche. It was my first try and I
only wished to try it out. So, it wasn't a serious kind of writing.
Just for fun. I apologize to people who read it, sorry for a lame story.

Although 298 subscribers seems little amount but, honestly, I did not
even expect to get this amount of subscribers. It is not very impressive, I get it.
I mean the featured fan fiction usually have at least six thousand of subscribers
and I am nowhere close to that but I am actually quite thankful with that
amount. I have another story in mind. InsyaAllah a well planned story
this time. I have plan it carefully. Hopefully not disappointing as this one.

Like I told you earlier, there are so many times where I wanted to stop writing
because the story line is horrible but.. here's the thing, in Asian Fan Fiction,
the readers are so sweet. They gave me motivation to continue and they are kind.
Although in reality, we (my readers and I) knew that my story wasn't that nice but
them being nice, they commented like my story is the best one hahaha. Thanks man.

I mean, look at this

How is this not sweet?! I have grammar mistakes, wrong usage of words but
the lovely readers never made me feel down. Instead they filled the comment
section with sweet words hehe. LOVE THEM, OMG. I can't wait for this
semester to end cause I can finally write my new story huehuehue.
Maybe I'll be brave enough to upload it on wattpad. If only. InsyaAllah

Thank you for reading!
